My passion for photography started at age 13; it has been the the thread that has held my life together. I have come through "old school photography" into modern digital technology with an enormous amount of experience both in life and photography. My educational background includes a BA from the University of Maryland, a BS from Angelo State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Angelo State University, and Doctor of Osteopathy from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. I am retired from 37 years in the Army with combined active and reserve duty and with both enlisted and commissioned time.
During the isolation of the pandemic, I honed my skills as an image editor resulted in the creation of Black Box Editing to complement Project Yourself Photography which emphasizes Event and Portrait Photography. I strive to capture the essence of each subject and project, ensuring every shot tells a compelling story. My vast hands-on experience has lead to incorporating new technologies for continuous improvement.
The Grand Rapids Camera Club has an annual photo competition. Of my 23 entries, 16 earned awards: 2 First place, 3 Second place, and 2 Third place along with 11 Honorable Mention.
