King & Queen County School Board is an elected body of five individuals that oversee the development and implementation of strategic, educational, financial, and capital improvements of the King & Queen County School System.
-I was nominated for and elected Chair Person my first year on the board. (The board reorganizes every year)
-I was one of the youngest chair persons in the state at 29 years old.
-On our first year King & Queen was one of the few boards in Virginia to increase its staff and work with its Board of Supervisors to increase the investment in education
-The Board also enacted performance contracting to make our building more energy efficient without having to cut positions in the name of capital improvements.
- We began to bring back vocational learning programs starting with wood shop.
