Earning a recommendation of early promotion report on my evaluation as Deck seaman I was promoted and received the pay immediately to Third Class Petty Officer! While deployed to Combat in south China seas for 9 months, I Led 22 sailors in maintenance and upkeep of all topside spaces and managed aviation, seamanship, and search and rescue warfare areas resulting in an overall score of 98 percent. I Conducted over 24 hours of weekly in-rate and unit level training. The training increased professional growth, mission capabilities, and the advancement potential of all junior sailors in the division, resulting in 10 newly qualified Helmsmen, 10 Lee Helmsman, 2 Boat Davit Captains, 7 deck riggers, 4 lookouts, and 3 line handling petty officers in charge. Ranked the Number one rigger for any evolution. My dynamic skills displayed during 7 UNREPS, 3 search and rescue personnel recoveries, 19 small boat recoveries, 26 sea and anchor evolutions and 97 hours of flight deck evolutions.
Served as the Junior Enlisted Association Treasurer preparing and presenting financial reports to inform senior management and board of directors. Outstanding leadership abilities and being the most qualified sailor resulted in me being ranked the number 1 of 13 third class petty officers in Operations Department.
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Fitzgerald’s deck, ground tackle, and lifesaving equipment. As a Boat Davit Captain and Underway Replenishment Rigger, I conducted 15 small boat launches and recoveries, as well as executing three Underway Replenishments with zero mishaps.
Serving as a Landing Signalman Enlisted and Flight Deck Crewman in 22 Flight Deck evolutions.
Performed over 571 hours of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of lifesaving equipment. Deck division receiving an overall score of 98 percent for the maintenance materials management certification which resulted in me winning my second Navy And Marine Corps Achievement Medal. My overall performance as the rank of Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Unanimously resulted in me winning sailor of the year!

The appointment of being promoted to Second Class Petty Officer carries with the obligation of increased authority willingly accept greater responsibility. I was the Leading Petty Officer of Deck Compartment and responsible all 22 sailors safety, performance and managed the aviation, seamanship, and search and rescue warfare areas.

As lead Landing Signalman Enlisted, I tactfully led 47 sailors through 270 hours of flight operations with six multinationals navies in support while in Milan, India. As lead rigger for every UNREP evolution, I oversaw the transfer of 4.7 million gallons of fuel and 338k lbs. of cargo. Extremely instrumental in the execution of 22 small boat evolutions, 24 sea and anchors with 5 precision anchorage’s, and 11 UNREPS with zero mishaps. Led 15 sailors in the weekly discussion of training topics ranging from financial tips to the qualities of a great leader.
As a Damage Control Petty Officer, I was responsible for the overall condition of 2500 battle lantern, 700 Doors, Hatches, and scuttles. My efforts ensured the optimal readiness of firefighting equipment, crucial for the safety and efficiency of the entire crew on the ship. Led 15 sailors in the completion of 500 hours of maintenance. Deck’s equipment remained tip top shape during all certifications. Supervised the preservation of 3,600 square feet of all topside. Supervised and inspected over 2,400 maintenance checks to include 400 rubber duckies, 50 kapoks, 25 Mk 1s, and 16 life rafts. encompassing over 1000 maintenance hours.

After 5 years in the United States Navy I made my decision to separate voluntarily with an honorable discharge.
Responsible for preservation, maintenance and upkeep of 22 spaces and associated Ground tackle, Lifesaving Equipment, Underway Replenishment Stations, and Flight Deck Equipment.
Applied expert knowledge of currents, tides, and oceanographic conditions to achieve efficient passage through challenging waterways such as narrow channels or straits when steering the ship and controlling the engine speed.
Involved in 17 search and rescue recoveries, 19 small boat recoveries, 6 sea and anchor evolutions, 15 flight deck evolutions, 3 abandoned ship drills, and a precision anchorage.
Completed 100 hours of maintenance on 300 abandoned life preservers, 16 life buoys, 16 distress marker lighters, 27 mark 1 vest, and 70 inherently buoyant life preservers.. Ensured 100 percent readiness in preparation for USS Fitzgerald’s sail away from Pascagoula, Ms to San Diego, Ca.
Performed exceptional in search and rescue, aviation, and seamanship assessments earning in average score of 90 percent.
Assisted in the successful inventory of over 2000 parts and materials accounting for 90 percent of Fitzgerald’s seamanship equipment.
Completed United States Navy Basic Military Training at Great Lakes naval station.
Basic Military Training is 10 weeks and includes physical fitness, firearms, firefighting, shipboard damage control, seamanship, and lessons about teamwork and discipline.

I was stationed on board USS Fitzgerald December 19, 2019 in Pascagoula Mississippi.
The USS Fitzgerald collided with a container ship on June 17, 2017 killing 7 people and causing damages up to 250 million dollars putting the ship in the maintenance phase
During the maintenance phase, my task was to get to get qualified and learned my job as much as possible.
