The BAWA Assistant Superintendent works under the administrative direction of the BAWA Superintendent; cooperates and assists in planning, constructing and inspecting both self-constructed and capital improvement projects.


Duties

  • Supervises and/or performs chemical and biological lab tests. Oversees lab procedures and equipment repairs. Inspects treatment process and physical plant for compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Compiles daily information for management, suppliers, and governmental agencies including monthly reports to Texas Commission of Environmental Quality and discusses reports with BAWA Board members.
  • Directs the work force and checks their performance by auditing lab test results, log sheets, and product quality.
  • QA/QC Officer ensuring adherence to all guidelines. Reviews and reads various technical journals and federal and state bulletins to keep current on processes, new treatment chemicals and new regulations. Implements updates to government mandated risk and safety programs.
