As the ICE Contract Detention Processing Officer CDPO assists immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) staff in detention facilities to facilitate removal processing. Specifically, CDPO assist Deportation Officers with daily activity and provide services and support to individuals in ICE custody on issues that commonly affect the ICE detainee population and ERO operations in case and removal processing.
* Manage a detain docket which includes making sure documents, reports, custody reviews, humanitarian paroles, and release requests are sufficient and completed promptly. Facilitate interviews for noncitizens with Consulates, and or/ Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS). Point of contact (POC) for foreign consulates. Conduct custody determinations regarding the detention of noncitizens in accordance with constitutional law, federal statues, regulations, and policies. Collect evidence and information relevant to nationality to include claims of U.S. citizenship; that can involve thorough investigations requiring analysis, review, and application of highly complex U.S. immigration and nationality laws.
*ERO and facility staff support
*Assist ERO and detention facility staff as a resource to facilitate the compliance of applicable agency policies and detention standards.
*Conduct removal planning with detainees such as referrals and connections to resources in home country to support removals.
* Lead group sessions and facilitate peer-support group and workshops with detainees on relevant topics, such as safety, coping skills, resiliency, parenting, and empowerment.
* Conduct release planning for pregnant women and vulnerable populations-referrals to housing, medical and needed support services.
* Respond to requests and assist law enforcement agencies in identifying noncitizens that pose a threat to national security and public safety.
* Preparing release paperwork such as Parole packets, OREC, OSUP and Asylum packets for detainees being released.
