Literary Analysis
I am an independent scholar of Victorian and Gothic literature. I have been selected as a presenter for the Victorian Popular Fiction Association for an upcoming Study Day in June 2024, for my paper titled, Shadows of the Self: Silenced and Erased Within an Insane Asylum in Wilkie Collin’s The Woman in White (1859). This will be a scholarly discussion that examines loss of agency, and silenced voices of marginalized groups within Victorian literature. I am also submitting an article for a call for papers from The Bronte Society. The theme is The Brontes and the Wild, which will discuss Charlotte Bronte's discontent and her wild desires that led her abroad to the European continent.
I am also an author of fiction writing and have recently published my first novel which is a work of historical fiction. I received a starred review from IndieReader and have had a nice reception.
