Biomedical Scientist

My previous research has focused on addressing the global health issue of iron deficiency, particularly in small rural areas, low-income countries, and disadvantaged socio-economic communities that lack access to essential iron fortification in their diets. Iron deficiency is a critical factor contributing to anemia, particularly among vulnerable populations such as children and mothers, and can have long-term impacts on growth, cognitive development, and overall health. Through my research, I have aimed to better understand the environmental, nutritional, and socio-economic factors that contribute to this deficiency and explore sustainable solutions to improve access to iron-rich foods and supplements in these underserved regions.

Building on this foundation, my future research will shift towards the field of oral cancer biology, where I hope to contribute to the understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying oral cancer development and progression. Specifically, I am interested in exploring early biomarkers for diagnosis, potential genetic and environmental risk factors, and novel therapeutic strategies to improve patient outcomes. By integrating my expertise in both nutrition and cancer biology, I am committed to making meaningful contributions to global health, particularly in underserved populations where health disparities are most pronounced.
