Shift assessment/vitals, CBC/maternal labs, CCHD testing, newborn labs, (PKU, total bilirubin, reticulocytes, CBC, glucose levels), weigh newborn, perform newborn bath, hepatitis B, assist with circumcisions, maternal fundal rubs, and followed hospital protocols accordingly. Educated new mothers and fathers on how to care for infant, including education on breastfeeding, formula feeding, bathing, cord care, and circumcision care. Monitoring mothers to make sure they were recovering properly, both physically and emotionally. Managed care of newborn that required phototherapy and hypoglycemic babies, neonatal abstinence scoring, and respite babies. As sit in charge nurse assisted nurses with couplet care, and making the assignment for the following shift.
