Role
Management responsibility for the Early Help team, in the Penwith area of Cornwall. Oversight of all Early Help cases, providing reflective supervision to youth and family workers who deliver evidenced based interventions. Collaboration with partner agency managers to support and ensure early help assessments and plans are managed effectively. Highlight safeguarding concerns, liaise for escalations, attend quality assurance meetings and conduct audits to promote best practices and high quality service delivery.

Early Help Co-ordinator in the Early Help Hub, with responsibility for ove
rseeing all early help service referrals within Cornwall, for each of the 8 services offered through the Early Help Hub. The work included triaging and assessing suitability of services for children and young people. An excellent knowledge of safeguarding thresholds and good working relationship with the Maru managers. Full multi agency work with partners and stakeholders. Responsible for proficient reviewing systems, auditing procedures and the development and introduction of the current online portal.

Efficiently processed early help requests, including gathering additional information from parents and partner services when needed. Conducted multi-agency system checks to ensure timely appropriate support. Provided advice and support to parents, carers and professionals over the phone, identified safeguarding concerns and analysed information to allocated the most appropriate services.
Role
Early Help Family Worker working part of multi-disciplinary teams where children, young people and their families need co-ordinated support when problems start to arise, and where children require early help to prevent escalation to statutory services, or where families are closing to statutory services. Using a range of evidence-based approaches and intervention skills drawn from the core curriculum, including Signs of Safety, Motivational Interviewing and accredited Parenting Programmes, to promote best outcomes for children and young people. The role also involved delivery of the accredited parenting programmes within the Family Hubs.
Role
To support best practice in early education settings by sharing knowledge and role-modelling effective practices in high-need environments. Assisted practitioners in setting up developmental activities, enhancing observations techniques and accurately recording children's progress. Ensured settings met children's needs optimally and identified concerns at the earliest stages, with a view to 'closing the gap' in attainment.
