During my time at Rogue Valley Terminal Railroad, I served as the assistant manager of a team comprised of engineers, conductors, and track maintenance workers. I adopted a democratic leadership style, recognizing that each team member was knowledgeable in their role. Instead of dictating how to handle various situations, I sought their input and perspectives. I found that this leadership approach improved morale, empowered the team, reduced the need for oversight, and enhanced staff retention.
