Dynamic medical coder with extensive experience at R1 RCM, adept at ICD-10 coding and medical claims management. Proven ability to enhance team performance through effective training and mentoring. Committed to compliance and ethical standards, ensuring accuracy in coding while fostering a collaborative work environment. Strong attention to detail drives consistent results. Solved several important issues with the Security Cyber Attack on Amita, such as the reports for testing were handwritten and very hard to read. The practice decided to have the physicians go back in and create an electronic copy of the report without consulting with R1. I discovered there were 2 if not 3 copies of these reports with different dates of service and different providers reading these reports. I brought this issue to Ashley and Mary. We had to escalate this issue to work with compliance to figure out the best way to handle it
. I have been working very closely with IT to have physicians who have been reading tests at several different facilities and not getting paid for the reads. I discovered that the physicians where never added to the charge reports that pull the information to be able to code and bill these encounters. It has taken a long time to get all of the charges added and reconciled. I have completed the charges for the physicians who were upset as they were doing a lot of work and not getting compensated for it. I work extremely hard with the global coders to make sure they are understanding what is expected of them and to become the best well rounded coders that they can be. I enjoy teaching the coders and then seeing the optimistic results when they achieve the tasks. It is very satisfying.
