• Evening RN
• Care for 18 to 36 patients; med tech assist half of the shift.
• Wound treatments, diabetic management, IV medications,use of PointClick Care charting system.

• Telemetry
• Care of 4-6 patients with high turnover rate on floor
• Float to other units: bariatric, orthopedic, medical/surgical, ICU.

• Responsible for visits, fielding calls related to needs for the dying, including referral to inpatient unit as needed
• Providing support, education, medication, home supplies, and links to chaplain, social worker, and pharmacy as needed.

• Care of 4-5 patients on a 20-bed acute care unit transitioning from hospital or ICU care to home/LTC during a 27-day window period
• Most patients have PICC lines, some are on vent wean protocol. We work with physical, occupational, speech, and dietary departments.

• Care of 10-11 patients using team nursing, for everything from minor complaints to major issues such as MI, sepsis, overdose.
• Codonix, Meditech.

• ICU
• Care of 2-3 patients including pre-and post-heart cath, postop and all other critically ill patients under ICU protocol
• Meditech Word charting system.

• Staff RN, CCU/ICU/Stepdown CCU and ICU patient care with a ratio of 2:1 or 1:1, Stepdown 3:1
• Swan-Ganz lines, chest tubes, ventilators, tube feeds, IABP management.
• Meditech charting.

• Patient load of 5-8 in a 24 bed emergency room in a level 3 trauma care center
• Occasional relief charge, corrected timesheets.
• Codonix charting system.

• Worked in ER for the first 9 months of the opening of a new hospital.
• Patient ratio 5:1 in a 10 bed ER.
• Cath lab and CABG backup for heart patients.

• Performed patient work-up for visits, assisted with exercise and dobutamine stress tests , titrated Coreg and Coumadin doses, assisted with out of town clinic visits in Silver City and Alamogordo, NM
• Average workweek is 50-55hrs.

• Emergency Room responsibilities, certified in ACLS and TNCC, attended ATLS.

• Float Pool on night shift, with experience in telemetry, ICU, Emergency, Oncology, Postpartum and orthopedic departments.

• Performed patient work-ups, telephone triage, Coumadin dosaging, assisted with out of town clinic visits to Truth or Consequences and Deming, NM.

• Cared for 6-8 patients on telemetry floor with occasional charge nurse responsibilities.

Performed blood draws, diabetic teaching, dressing changes,

paperwork for certification for services. Many clients were Spanish speaking only.

• Part time ICU care of post-MI, post op neurosurgical patients
• Intracranial pressure monitoring, ventilator management, chest tubes, vasoactive infusions.

• ICU care of post-MI patients , post-op neurosurgical patients including intracranial pressure monitoring, ventilator management, chest tube management.
• Occasional monitoring of patients being transferred to El Paso or Albuquerque by ground ambulance.

• Charge RN on telemetry unit.
• Responsible for making assignments and care for 7-8 patients.
