As an Early Intervention Specialist,I plan and implement play-based interventions in all developmental areas. Work 1-on-1 with children birth to three years of age in their homes. Provide detailed information about typical and atypical birth to three development in areas of social-emotional, cognitive, receptive and expressive communication, fine and gross motor skills and self-help skills. I assess and document child's progress with established goals. Use of Hawaii Early Learning Profile (HELP) to evaluate progress toward goals on a regular basis as needed.
Decided to be home with my children full time.
As the Curriculum Coordinator, I was responsible to work with classroom teachers and children to implement activities appropriate for children between ages 6 months to 5 years old. I would evaluate the developmental growth of the children and organize activities which met their individual needs. I supervised the daily routine of the children's activities, creating environments where children can function and learn on their own and at their own rate of development. I allowed the children to use variety art materials to express themselves as well as communicate visually and creatively what they may not be able to communicate verbally. I encouraged children to feel a sense of accomplishment by creating art that were admired for uniqueness and beauty. Developed monthly documentation of children's work and displayed in the art studio and classrooms. Supervised other teachers and assistants in place of our Assistant Director in his absence.
Working with both infant/toddlers and preschoolers, allowed me to encourage the children to express their own creativity as well as their imagination through art. Giving them the opportunity to work in small groups at their own pace. Allowing them to explore new materials, continue with on- going activities and meet their developmental skills.

I enjoy spending quality time with my family. As a mom of four children, being involved in their school and activities keeps my husband and I quite busy. Our weeks include our childrens' extra curriculum such as basketball and Tae Kwon Do. When we have some down time, we love to spend it together doing arts and crafts, cooking and baking and just relaxing watching our favorite movies. During my down time, I love listening to music and self care like yoga.
