Summary

Dedicated educator with expertise in child development and classroom management, works at Floyd County Board of Education. Proven ability to enhance student engagement through interactive learning and personalized support. Strong communicator and problem-solver, committed to fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring compliance with educational standards. Now to talk from my heart .Our head start classes have at least half of children with autism some at a level 3 extreme anywhere from in their own world to some that wont even eat and drink PediaSure is they’re only food intake and drink. These children I have been drawn to and they to me for whatever reason they feel safe with me. I earn their trust and they do their best for me and I also do my best for them. I know they learn different and they need different things in their environment to help them learn and deal with their emotions. I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to not be able to tell someone that something is bothering me and I know when they act out that’s what it’s from. I have the most patience with children big people not so much they know better but when children act out there’s always a reason, especially if they have autism they’re not mean children. They are just frustrated and don’t know how to express or deal with their emotions at the time, I consider it a blessing to be able to bond with these children and help them . I feel like in our head start room I’m not truly getting to give my children with autism everything they need because we are short staffed and I’m also trying to help the regular children with what they need to achieve so I feel like I would be best at working with children with autism. I feel like I can bring more to them and help them in the kind of environment that they need to succeed.I know every little step is a reason to celebrate with them and their families.Support, love, compassion and patience, is the key to helping these children, overcome to the best of their abilities to be successful in life to whatever degree that they can be.
