Perform the necessary intake functions for arriving patients
Verify the patient's demographics, insurance coverage and document the Electronic Health Record
Work extensively with EPM/EHR, Claim Remedi, Web Portal, Desk Top Reference, NICEinContact, and Cisco Finesse
Possess the knowledge of key operating systems and standard operating procedures within the health centers, while ensuring health center adherence
Ensure all applicable forms are updated and utilized, accurately capturing patient information for billing and compliance purposes
Receive or place incoming or outgoing calls for patients
Probe the callers needs to determine how to process the call and ensure one-call resolution; research Peak Vista and community resources to ensure the patient is given the correct information
Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments at Peak Vista
Send EHR tasking messages to appropriate provider, RN, or other groups to resolve the patient's request or concern
Conduct receptionist training; familiarize the receptionist with NextGen and other Peak Vista systems and programs; demonstrate scheduling procedures and provide step-by-step instruction; monitor new receptionists calls and provide feedback and guidance as necessary
Place outreach calls to schedule appointments for patients transitioning out of the Emergency Room or Inpatient Hospital status
Interpret conversations between providers and patients in English and Spanish languages
Promote and participate in the development of team-based care to ensure all delivery platforms support a patient-centric approach
Enhance the effectiveness: efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improvement goals.
