Rotate among the emergency departments of six WellSpan hospitals in southcentral Pennsylvania for ongoing multi-week assignments to help alleviate staffing shortages

• Successfully navigate transitions among various emergency departments, most with very different patient demographics, resources and staff experience levels.
• Convey treatment options, diagnosis information and home care techniques to patients and caregivers to continue care consistency.
• Educate family members and caregivers on patient care instructions.
• Cultivate solid, positive working relationships with various employees, and communicate with healthcare team members to plan, implement and enhance treatment strategies.

• Completed more than 15 travel assignments at various Pennsylvania hospital emergency departments and specialty floors
• Staffed both small community and large trauma ERs, aided staff nurses with managing patient care and patient flow
• Served as mentor and educator to new RNs on staff
• Diligently worked through Covid 19 pandemic in both emergency departments and Covid floors, including Reading Hospital's trauma critical care step-down unit and Geisinger Danville's Level 1 trauma center.

• Successfully navigated transition from community hospital to Level II trauma center and implementation of Epic EMR system
• Implemented treatment plans for acute medical emergencies
• Completed TNCC training and manned new trauma bay
• Served as preceptor to two new RNs.

• Served in busy emergency department, aiding medical staff with patient care and supply management.

• Developed, implemented and instructed a variety of individual training sessions for clients
• Researched new exercise routines to develop quality training programs
• Prepared individualized exercise programs by evaluating health history and fitness assessments
• Taught up to four group fitness classes per week.

• Wrote, edited and designed news stories for various daily and weekly newspapers over a 20-year career
• Received numerous state and national writing awards.
