Summary: I have completed my MSN Nurse Faculty Educator Role program from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. I did my practicum at Regis University, in Denver, CO. I am pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Aspen University. I am a professor of nursing and teach medical surgical, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, mental health, toxicology, skills lab and I am a certified simulationist with various makes and models of manikins and software products whether off the shelf or I have rewritten off the shelf or collaborate with creating specific themes as well as on the fly techniques. I also take students for clinical rotations for all populations. My interests include educating all levels of population in healthcare academia, hospital, community settings, nursing policy, healthcare legislation, and lobbying. I am competent in Joint Commission, state, and national healthcare regulatory compliance reviews, healthcare law and policy. I have 35 years of varied experience in critical care, intensive care, emergency room, case management, toxicology, and teaching skills and care in all populations. My teaching philosophy is eclectic, I believe in students having fun as they learn more when they are not stressed. I believe in positivity and building students belief in themselves which produces more confidence and self-awareness. I have excellent direct teaching and communication skills and I believe that I have had the best career ever and must pass on what I was so privileged to have in my career. My belief is that anyone can take care of anyone, anywhere at anytime. Online and on-ground curriculum design and simulation. I have developed online courses for nursing assistants, ADN/BSN pre-licensure students, hybrid, and on-ground. Online education is reaching more people than we could have ever imagined in the 20th century and I'm along for the ride! Have students, will travel!
