Accomplished Rating Veteran Service Representative and prior to that, Administrator at the VAMC, I exceled in claims analysis and embodied superb customer care. Recognized for leadership and training skills, I've significantly contributed to policy interpretation and veteran service improvements. My dedication to respecting and understanding diverse needs has been pivotal in achieving equitable outcomes for veterans.
As a Rating Veterans Service Representative, Journeyman (RVSRJ), I was considered an expert in mastering, interpreting, and providing training to my fellow colleagues in order for them to comprehend thousands of VA regulations, VA manual references, the Rating Schedule which applies to all body systems and medical conditions claimed by the Veteran, as well as several other duties.
I was the lead on all special projects, which entailed traveling to Washington D.C. to provide training to the nation, as well as obtaining knowledge in order to inform my office.
I received numerous awards for the customer service I provided to our deserving veterans, as I treated all people with compassion, grace, and fairness.
I have extensive knowledge and have completed approximately 100+ hours of training of the body systems, rare medical conditions, and the very delicate symptoms of mental health, related to the Veteran's military service.
I am very proud of my service in the US Navy but most importantly, I was blessed with the human connections I made from all walks of life. Hence, my decision to obtain employment for the VA Regional Office was a simple one. I felt as though the individuals who volunteered to serve and fight for our country, deserved someone to fight for them and provide fair and equitable rating decisions.
There are far too many duties, tedious details, and problem solving responsibilities to provide in this format. However, I am more than willing to elaborate and provide more detail upon your request.
I managed the neurology and geriatric departments which included scheduling 100+ Veterans for their outpatient and inpatient treatment. I transcribed all medical treatment records for the Chief, as well as 7 physicians, 2 physician assistants, 2 nurse practitioners, 1 social worker, and 2 nurse managers.
I compiled, analyzed and formulated sensitive reports to present to the Director, VAMC with findings and documentation that our budget was balanced and that our goals were being met.
Selected for the position of Director's Leadership Program, which entailed working specifically with directors across the nation.
Employee of the Month four times based on my wit, passion for learning and compassion for people.
