I am a dedicated, hardworking student-athlete with a tireless passion for academic success and accomplishing personal goals. I have an astute and methodical approach to personal educational opportunities, and spend my time setting myself up for success using an organized and dependable note taking system. I am articulate and am diligent about scheduling time with teachers and tutors for extra support where it is needed. I pride myself in building and maintaining important relationships. I do my best to solve problems effectively, and handle every detail independently and timely. I am empathetic and considerate with all peers; as someone who has had to overcome my own learning differences, I am able to identify and consider what it feels like to be in another person's shoes. I will always root for everyone and am most proud of the way
During the summer, I have spent countless hours delivering for the Meals On Wheels organization. This is an activity I enjoy while spending time with my mother. We pick up the meals at the local church and are provided a specific driving route. After mapping out the route, we hand deliver nutritious meals for senior citizens who do not have the ability to prepare for themselves. For many, Meals On Wheels is not only access to healthy food, but also an opportunity to visit with a staff volunteers. Often times, my mom and I are the only faces that our recipients see throughout their day. It is so rewarding to know that we are making people feel better while also ensuring that they are properly taken care of and have eaten meals that have been prepared with care.
Every summer that I am able to get home to San Diego, I spend many days at the Ronald McDonald House with my family. Because my father is an attending at the Children's Hospital in San Diego, we make a big effort to spend as much time as possible helping out at the Ronald McDonald House affiliated with Rady's Children's Hospital. The house was established to help care for the families of young patients that are in the hospital. There are many scenarios where the families live far from the hospital but because they do not want to leave their child while they are in treatment, the Ronald McDonald House offers the families a free place to stay. A day of volunteering will likely include making overnight bags for the families filled with supplies needed for a comfortable overnight stay. We will also spend time in the kitchen preparing a home cooked meal for the families that are staying in the house. Sometimes the families will come to the kitchen looking for conversation and to express their gratitude for the support. The Ronald McDonald House is one of the most amazing organizations and I love watching my father interact with the families of his patients. I think it is such an incredible opprtunity to know that he is not only helping care for his patents but also wants to make life a little easier for their families, too.
I began working at The Current Wellness Studio when it opened in the Summer of 2022. The concept is a mixture of health and wellness protocols that rejuvenate and optimize brain and body health. With a combination of red light therapy, contrast oxygen training, and a mindfulness bio-charging station designed to customize energy therapy, The Current Method helps anyone and everyone find their happiest place. I had no idea how important my time at the studio would become; after tearing my ACL and feeling physically and emotionally withdrawn from what I did best, it was my time in the studio as a client that helped me heal faster and allowed me to regain my emotional strength. Working at the front desk greeting clients and scheduling sessions, cleaning face masks and wiping down the equipment felt pivotal because I understood the model and had seen it change peoples lives for the better, and when it was my turn to need help, The Current offered me a safe space to heal. I went from an employee to a believer over-night, and because of my own come-back story, convincing others to give The Current a try has become a personal mission.
Spent mornings and afternoons helping with the Darien Youth Soccer, specifically training with the goalies. Worked of several skills but focused on the importance of good decision making and leading the team from the back of the field.
