Projects

Climate Impact Prediction: Polar Bear Analysis (https://github.com/lilstarhunter/SavePolarBears.git)

  • A full-stack web application hosted on Heroku providing essential information about Polar Bears in the Arctic and visualize the impact of climate change on this species.
  • Utilized SQL to clean and transform climate and polar bear behavior data, trained random forest and kNN in sklearn to input various climate change metrics to predict impact on polar bear mobility and habitat suitability.

Exoplanet Explorer (https://github.com/lilstarhunter/exoplanetExplorer)

  • Preprocessed data exoplanet data from NASA over a period of nine years, created multiple machine learning models (SVM, logistic regression, random forest, kNN, and neural network) capable of classifying candidate exoplanets from the raw dataset.
  • Hypertuned a random forest classifier model to predict exoplanets with 90% accuracy

Exploring Biodiversity in U.S. National Parks (https://github.com/lilstarhunter/ParkBiodiversity)

  • Mined and cleaned data on park biodiversity and geolocation to create a relational database using SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL
  • Created interactive maps and plots using Plotly and Leaflet to explore species biodiversity
