Provide occupational therapy services to patients recovering from surgery, injury or illness and/or managing chronic disease within the home. Treatment interventions maximize patient safety and independence, improve ability to self-monitor/self-manage chronic disease and promote early detection of disease exacerbation to prevent rehospitalization. Strong emphasis on home safety modification, DME education/training and fall prevention.

Provide occupational therapy services to seniors residing within Independent Living and Assisted Living communities. Interventions maximize highest level of patient safety and independence in order to remain in least restrictive setting.

Provide occupational therapy services to patients within a sub-acute setting to restore prior level of function. Deliver treatment interventions to improve strength, activity tolerance, balance, functional mobility and safe ADL/IADL performance.

Promoted successful residencies and helped residents achieve maximum independence and self-sufficiency by:

• Identifying resident strengths, needs and goals
• Educating on and linking residents to beneficial resources
• Establishing on-site programs and activities based on resident interest
• Developing and maintaining a community resource guide

As part of a comprehensive treatment team, provided occupational therapy services to persons with acquired brain injury and other neurological impairments. Given the broad scope of practice within this post-acute setting, treatment needs ranged from basic activities of daily living to return to work and/or driving.

• Knowledgeable of adaptive techniques/equipment to promote one-handed functioning
• Experienced in neuromuscular reeducation, sensory reeducation, UE positioning and tone management
• Strong task analysis, task modification and strategy development skills

Given a personal interest in vision, through continuing education, I gained skills to assess and treat visual perceptual dysfunction after brain injury. Following successful completion of a low vision rehabilitation course, I learned how to maximize residual vision and compensate for vision loss.

Most recently, due to increased awareness and identification of concussions, I completed training for Concussion Management in Schools to effectively treat both students and adults with post-concussive syndrome.

Provided occupational therapy services to children with global delays in a special purpose preschool. Interventions promoted growth, development and engagement in everyday routines.
