Support special education students who may vary in age, grade, or skill level, but who are assigned to a specific program that is more self-contained.
Support individual students utilizing research-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies such as Discrete Trial methods, to teach a variety of targeted skills such as; communication, social interaction, play skills, adaptive daily living skills, self-care, community navigation, emotional regulation, using technology, following instructions, participating in leisure activities independently or with minimal assistance, working with others, academic concepts and other skills as per the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Implement behavior intervention techniques using ABA methods such as positive reinforcement, antecedent based interventions, modeling, and teaching replacement behaviors.
Maintain detailed, accurate data. This includes but is not limited to: ABC data, skill acquisition, and verbal and physical behavior data.
Coordinate with the teacher and BCBA to establish behavioral limits and proactive and reactive behavioral strategies.
Provide comprehensive support throughout the day for each student's unique needs. Promote independence in all areas.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavioral incidents, and intervention outcomes for further analysis.
