Laurie Lawson Cox

Product of Leon County Schools ( Ruediger, Griffin and Leon). Involved in each of those schools and while attending Tallahassee Community College, served as the Student Body President and on the selection committee as a new President was hired. At Auburn served in several organizations (Cru, FCA, SGA, Greek life) Love to be involved working with students, families, teachers, and serving the community. Has done Prison Ministry, Coached Upward Basketball, served civically, helped write state standards for Physical Education and helped write several district curriculum guides Has provided trainings for teachers and presented at conferences. Currently serves on The Trent's Touch Board that serves local families dealing with Childhood Caner, and on the Working Well Board of Tallahassee promoting wellness in the workplace. Worked collaboratively in many organizations, committees (local and state level) and with community partners. Serves in youth ministry at church and spends many summers at a camp in North Carolina helping to run the clothing store and serving as Music Director and serve s on the Alumnae Board. Married to Dr. T Alan Cox for over 30 years and have a son and daughter in law.
