MARKETING/SALES & COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST
- Promote corporate identity/brand/products for startup commercial electronics OEM
- Principal tasks included: establishing sales program, account management/compliance and creating marketing communications materials such as datasheets and online tools
- Managed and maintained compliance programs and initiatives: ISO 9001:2015 certification and various federal, state and and international environmental/trade standards: RoHS, REACH, FAR, DFARS, EAR, ECCN Product Classification, Environmental Right to Know/Material Safety, US Customs and Border Protection AES, USMCA and other Free Trade, Incoterms, UL Recognized Component Mark compliance, and cyber security requirements of NIST 800-171 and CMMC
- Marcom materials and compliance statements were eventually repurposed on corporate web site; created additional content, structure, and user interface
- Online marketing became primary tool to convey key aspects of corporate capabilities/products and unique values, synthesizing technical details from engineering
- Designed and placed advertising and direct mail campaigns (both print and electronic)
- Managed national and regional trade shows focused on commercial and defense embedded systems markets
- Teamed with owner and engineering staff on product strategy/development, business forecasting, risk analysis/mitigation
- In addition to preceding prospecting and development tasks, managed order processing, credit reviews and customer relationships
- As company matured, scope of responsibilities grew to include quality assessment and management
- From time to time, HR tasks arose in form of employee search campaigns, interviewing, and E-Verify program processing
- As owner would frequently comment – everything besides engineering!
