Laykn Thornton

Honor roll student since the 1st Grade. That has made me feel that my accomplishments are of many for academics. Worked diligently and wisely to gain the knowledge I have. I have taken the initiative to learn and ask more, so I can be a better well rounded person in my learning and what I hope will benefit my future profession and career

I participated my first year of cheerleading in 2015, I cheered for my local recreational sports department for the 5-6 U football team. I cheered basketball and football throughout middle school. Now, 8th grade year, I am head captain of the basketball and football cheer teams. I have been apart of many clubs. Such as Skills USA, National Jr. Honor Society President, Student council Vice President, and I've taken part in the Yearbook Staff both 7th and 8th grade year.

I volunteered to clean a local creek in my town for the past two years.

I help a program called, "Rivers Alive." In 2023 the Rivers Alive program had 165 events, 9,851 volunteers, 5,537 bags collected, and 331,705 pounds of trash cleaned out of rivers. I've searched at library and in scholarly databases to locate necessary information for research projects. Increased student participation by incorporating group activities and peer feedback sessions. I have had all A's my entirety of school, and I put 100% into everything I do.
