"Okay, we know she's a wizard at Ultrasound IVs, and she's maniacal about keeping the Emergency Department rooms stocked with vital equipment. But she's also got a good sense of when a patient needs immediate attention. She initiated suction and positioning for a critically ill baby, which improved the infants chances of recovery immensely. Thanks, Layla."
Team Award from Dr. Andrew Rounseville February 6, 2024,
"I wanted to write to you to let you know about the outstanding performance of the East Campus Emergency Department crew. While working on January 4, 2024 a critical infant was brought in by EMS. These patients are always challenging, but I was extremely grateful to have a top notch team on that evening. From the nurses to the techs to the RT's and ancillary services, everyone's expertise was on display. Though I do not want to distract from any member of the team, I do want to single out a few Individuals for their contributions. Taylor Lamb was the RN, and provided excellent leadership to the nursing team, particularly in mentoring less experienced nurses. Layla Sheldon was a super star and established an IV, with grace and accuracy, under the most difficult of circumstances. Heather King was exceptional and clearly brought her experience to the case and provided strong leadership to the respiratory team.
So often in the line of our work we are faced with difficult situations. I am exceedingly pleased that I have the team in the Emergency Department that I have to take on these challenges. These professionals do their jobs day in and day out. I would like them to know their efforts are meaningful and have not gone unnoticed
Thank you,
Dr Andrew Rounseville, MD
