- The Ohio Wildlife Center: Observed frequency of behavior in different red fox enclosure spaces before and after the introduction of a captive male and captive female.
- Columbus Zoo and Aquarium: Compared abnormal behaviors of Asian Elephants to their wild counterparts with emphasis on eating and exercise habits.

- Used genome-scale sequencing and comparative genomic analyses to improve our understanding of plastid genomes revealing that the plastomes of the magnoliid genus Asarum contain myriad manifestations of genomic destabilization, such as the only known incorporation of the Small Single Copy region into the Inverted Repeat.
