As a dedicated and very detailed oriented RN, I have over 23 years of nursing experience on a Complex Surgical Telemetry and Solid Organ Transplant Unit. I have also had the privilege of caring for other post surgical specialties such as: Cardio-Thoracic (CABG/Thoracotomies), Cardiac Catheterization procedures, Extensive/Complex Spine Surgery, Neuro-Endocrine Tumor Surgeries, Vascular Surgeries/Interventions, Ortho Trauma, and an extensive array of General Surgical type patients. While gaining these experiences, my career has developed through various roles as noted in my resume. I am seeking a Preop/PACU/Pain RN position in a multi specialty surgery center.

  • Responsible for over 25 patients daily in a Pre-Operative, Intra-Operative Pain Room, and Post-Operative setting with various types of Outpatient Surgical Orthopedics, Spine and Pain patients.
  • Pre-Op duties include: preparing patients for surgery and pain procedures with frequent IV starts, Vital Signs monitoring, IV and antibiotic therapy, patient education, and ensuring all paperwork is prepared correctly and thoroughly prior to these procedures.
  • Intra-Pain procedure responsibilities include frequent VS monitoring, Conscious RN Sedation as needed for patient comfort during procedures and constant communication with the physician about patient status during these procedures. Circulating in Pain room is alternated with Sedation on various days with arranging surgical trays, preparing injectable medications, patient preparations while maintaining sterile processes and maintaining fluidity during these processes . Report to PACU RN post procedure.
  • Post-Op/PACU includes recovering these patients with frequent VS monitoring, IV hydration, post procedure education, and ensuring safety of patients during and at time of discharge.
