In this role use of a variety of techniques, such as talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness practices, to help youth to cope with their problems. Provide one-on-one counseling, youth counselors may also work with families, teachers, and other professionals to create a holistic system. This may involve working with parents to improve communication and parenting skills, or working with teachers to create a positive and supportive learning environment for youth. Additionally, also providing group counseling to youth, which can be an effective way to help youth to connect with others who are going through similar challenges.
