• The TSU Presidential Scholarships is awarded to recognize the academic achievement of incoming freshman.
• To be considered for this scholarship a student must have a 3.5 GPA unweighted High School GPA and a 25 ACT or 1130 SAT test score
• Students must be enrolled full-time each fall and spring semester, earn a minimum of 15 credit hours each semester, and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

The HOPE Scholarship is established and funded from the net proceeds of the state lottery and awarded to entering freshmen who are enrolled at an eligible postsecondary institution within sixteen (16) months after graduating from an eligible high school in Tennessee.

• Overall minimum 3.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale, calculated with additional internal quality points awarded for advanced placement, honors or other similar courses according to the Uniform Grading Policy adopted by the State Board of Education

• Demonstrated a high level of initiative and creativity while tackling difficult tasks.
• Gained extensive knowledge in data entry, analysis and reporting.
• Developed and maintained courteous and effective working relationships.
• Used critical thinking to break down problems, evaluate solutions and make decisions.

• This scholarship honors Maxine A. Smith and is awarded to graduating high school seniors who have participated in the ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics) program
• Completed paperwork, recognizing discrepancies and promptly addressing for resolution.
• Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness through the development of innovative solutions.
• Proven ability to develop and implement creative solutions to complex problems.

• Encouraged diverse and unique dance students at every skill level through positive reinforcement and good sportsmanship.
• Created variety of original dance routines for different classes according to skill level and performance plans.
• Certified in CPR and First Aid through American Red Cross to respond to medical emergencies.
• Conducted written and verbal evaluations of dancers to present to parents and faculty.
