Para
For the Summer I took a job at Sunny smiles-summer school for children with special needs. I immediately connected with the kids on an emotional level. They loved me as their para and would fuss around if they were given someone else.
On a daily basis I worked directly children that have downs syndrome and autism.
I want to share my experience from the time I spent with the children recently. I was responsible for keeping them engaged and entertained in a fun environment. We had a wonderful time playing games and exploring creative activities that kept their spirits high.
In addition to the fun, I also made sure to provide them with supper in a pleasant setting, which helped set a positive tone for the evening. It was rewarding to see the children enjoying their meal and sharing laughter together.
Then as a para in a group setting I also gained skills as:
- Developed strong organizational and communication skills through coursework and volunteer activities.
- Cultivated interpersonal skills by building positive relationships with others.
- Completed paperwork on time.
- Identified issues, analyzed information and provided solutions to problems.
- Proven ability to develop and implement creative solutions to complex problems.
- Developed strong communication and organizational skills through working on group projects.
- Participated in team projects, demonstrating an ability to work collaboratively and effectively.
