I am a hard working dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with progressive career history in direct patient care, triage and care coordination in fast-paced environment. Proven to remain calm under pressure and skillfully handle difficult patients and high-stress situations. Consistently developing strong relationships with patients and families through empathetic communication, respectful attitude and excellent customer service.
1989-1998 ICU , Successfully completed basic and advance critical care course work. Maintained CEUs for CCRN Certification, American Critical Care Nursing Association.
1998-current In-patient Endoscopy Department. Previously Resource coordinator capacity for 20 years. After retirement, currently working in a PRN. 1-3 days a week
I also had the wonderful opportunity to work in the Endoscopy Departments as a GI Nurse in both Florida and Hawaii on PRN assignment's.
Some of my specific responsibilities have included and continue to include, direct patient care, assisting doctors with therapeutic procedure, staff management, scheduling, operational and capital budget, writing policies and procedures. ordering supplies, starting IVs, giving conscious sedation according to established guidelines. Monitoring closely for side effects or adverse reactions, stay current in department competencies and maintaining continuing education requirements.

Also a career highlight that I would like to mention and found to be extremely rewarding was being apart of two medical missions trips to remote parts of Chile providing medical care to under serviced indigenous people groups.
