Upon receiving a call of a job making sure any necessary parts and tools would be easily available inside one of my trucks toolboxes before moving out to find the job location, arriving to the site within the 90minutes assuming it was within 30 miles .
Responsible for walking of the yard daily and checking for trailers and tractors that are parked on the yard (up to 60 at times ) that are due for Federal annual D.O.T. inspections, as well as just checking each for obvious visible repairs needed including but not limited to, bent tarp bars, holes in the back of or on the sides of the trailers, lights missing, tires being bad.
Repairs made to leaky wheel seals when found, ( tear down of leaking hub, cleaning or replacement of bearings , cleaning of hub, reinstallation of hub components to be torqued to spec , installation of new drums and brake shoes, and adjusting them once done , replacing slack adjusters and s-cam components when necessary.
Rewiring of rear light boxes if and when tore off due to plant or driver damage.
Servicing and inspecting two fork lifts, two bobcats ,a back hoe as well as an excavator and JLG man lifts, and repairs made to hydraulics when needed.
Upon finding a trailer due for annual D.O.T. inspection; finding a yard tractor to hook up to it walking around to make sure it's fine to be moved and pulling it into one of the truck shop bays , making a work order on it, when finishing an inspection each inspection gets a full service if a tractor, it's a Wet PM . Trailers and tractors both get repaired where any and all repairs are needed including welding, tires, electrical and any mechanical fixes
