Develops and implements trauma protocols, participates in trauma patient rounds to identify issues and evaluate solutions. Serves as a liaison for the MHS with pre-hospital providers, other trauma centers, tertiary centers, regional hospitals, and community and government agencies. Develops and maintains quality improvement to obtain objective data for overall analysis of the trauma program and development of improved methods of care to ensure quality trauma care. Actively participates and represents the MHS in local, state, regional, and national organizations that support trauma system development. Supervises and guides the Trauma Registrar in the development and implementation of the trauma registry for the MHS. Assists in monitoring productivity and quality and identifies areas for improvement, supervises and guides the Injury Prevention Coordinator in the development and implementation of injury prevention activities targeting the trauma patient population.
