As a GI /MIT Health Technician I prepare procedural rooms for GI endoscopic procedures.This involves setting up instrument, testing equipment for proper operation, ensuring immediate availability of emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitative equipment,biopsy forceps specimen bottles,polypectomysnares,retrievers,injectors,dilators,balloons and electrocautery units and accessory probes. I inventory and maintain par levels of specialty equipment and supplies in the endoscopy rooms and travel emergency carts. I place roders, work with equipment sales reps and follow through on obtaining any deficient supplies/ equipment.

I am the designated Reuseable Medical Equipment (RME) Coordinator for the GI Procedural Lab.I review and implement the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each level of disinfection andsterilization for all reusable equipment utilized in the GI Procedure Lab. I am a GI Preceptor for nurses and technicians in basic and advanced endoscopic procedures.
