Work History

Graduate Data Analytics II Intern

NATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY LABORATORY, NREL
Golden, CO
08.2020 - Current
  • Work in the Transportation Secure Data Center (TSDC) cleansing and standardizing incoming travel survey data prior to its availability internally and to the public.
  • Provide internal and external user support accessing stored travel survey data.
  • Conducted research on assessing study participant privacy and disclosure risk on national household survey data. Results of this analysis led to changes in TSDC data anonymization workflow.
  • Performed data analysis and visualization using Python for The CanBikeCO Mini Pilot (Fall 2020). Public dashboard with required program metrics can be found here: https://dashboard.canbikeco.org/. This work can also be found in public GitHub repository: https://github.com/start0318.
  • Contributed to “Decarbonizing Transportation: Objectives and Insights from NREL’s Internal Workshop report.”

Production Petrophysicist Supervisor

WEATHERFORD INTERNATIONAL – DENVER, Geoscience Group
Denver, CO
01.2014 - 10.2017
  • Led team of petrophysicists, overseeing and guiding work to ensure successful data collection, produce unbiased, high-quality data interpretation for production and pulse neutron logging.
  • Led reservoir surveillance project for high-profile customer, interacting with managers, operational, research and development personnel to meet client’s objectives and yielding afore-mentioned published article.
  • Conducted client customer discovery and provided technical training for “Raptor”, Weatherford pulsed neutron logging technology, in Venezuela, Argentina, and Colombia. Led to campaign contract of 100 wells for YPF Argentina in 2015.
  • Worked closely with research and development group to improve raw (tool) data quality and enhance quality of analysis.
  • Implemented standard operational procedures for production logging engineers, with main goal of reducing operational lost time and increasing service quality.
  • Enhanced technical writing and presentation skills through development of training material for internal horizontal production logging class.

Petrophysicist

Weatherford
Denver, Colorado
02.2011 - 12.2013
  • Planned, executed, and analyzed wireline-cased hole logging jobs throughout domestic and international basins, identifying and quantifying bypass oil and gas reserves, and advising clients of potential new completion zones or high-risk zones.
  • Used Monte Carlo simulation to model fast neutrons responses in different wellbore environments, translating raw measurements to meaningful and well-known parameters to geologist, petrophysicist, and reservoir engineers.
  • Developed and applied petrophysical model to identified oil and gas zones behind casing in Wamsutter and Jonah fields.
  • Used linear models to transformed acquired cased hole logging data in order to traced gas cap for client in Hawkins field using sigma logging from different services companies thru time.

Drilling Engineer

SCHLUMBERGER - COLOMBIA
Casabe, Antioquia - Colombia
08.2008 - 12.2008
  • Worked on revitalizing mature oil field project as Drilling Engineer in training.
  • Coordinated and conducted spud meetings.
  • Created daily drilling reports and presented every day over operational call.
  • Physically inspected casing prior to being run in hole.
  • Gained technical and operational knowledge during daily drilling operations, as well as organizational and time management skills.

Petroleum Engineer Intern

BP - COLOMBIA
Yopal, Casanare-Colombia
07.2007 - 01.2008
  • Member of BP’s Well Intervention Team with main goal of maintaining wellbore integrity and enhancing oil and gas production in Cusiana and Cupiagua fields.
  • Examined and evaluated hundreds of wells workover history and proposed new candidates for well integrity and production enhancement job.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting permits to flare gas to the Ministry of Mines and Energy prior to workover operations.
  • Supported production logging jobs, safety valve repairs, running plug to isolate zones, well clean out jobs with nitrogen lift, and pre and post convectional fracking operations.
  • Earned valuable technical and safety knowledge oil and gas field operations in fast pace environment.
