Summary

Every since I can remember I always knew I wanted to work in the Health Care Field. To begin with I wanted to become a Neonatal Nurse and work in the NICU. After two years in the nursing program at Shelton State I decided this was not what I was expecting and started thinking of other health care options. I always loved going to the dentist and started looking into what it took to become a dental Hygienist. I started out working as a Dental Assistant in 2000 and then went on to receive my Dental Hygiene License in 2005. I have been working in the Dental Field for 22 years. I took a 5 year break to be a stay at home mom when my third child was born. Once he was ready to enter into the school system I wanted to go back to work part time as I also wanted to be involved in my children's activities through out their school years. The opportunity presented itself at my current office to work 2 days a week. Throughout the last 11 years I have worked any where from 1 day a week to 4 days a week depending on the needs of the office. I am currently working 3 days a week and have been since 2017.

Outside the Dental Office

I have been married to my husband since September 23rd 2000. Most all of our free time away from work is involved in our children's activities. We have three children.

Preston is 19 years old and recently graduated Gordo High School in May 2022. Prior to his high school graduation he received an Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance from Bevill State Community College and will start his career with DSL Electrical Company in Tuscaloosa, Al.

Ali Paige is 16 years old and will be a senior at Gordo High School this coming year. Along with her high School studies this will be her 3rd year to attend Bevill State Community College in the dual enrollment program offered through the school. She has been cheering for Gordo for the last 5 years and will be leading the cheer team as their Head Cheerleader for the 2022/20233 school year. When she is not in school or involved in her cheer responsibilities, she spends most of her free time babysitting, and working at the Dixie Youth Concession stands at night during baseball season.

Ace is 15 years old and will be a Sophomore at Gordo High School and will be starting the Industrial Maintenance Program through Bevill State Community College this coming year. He is currently playing baseball with the High School summer team as well as a weekend travel ball team.
