Greet patients and inquire about their last treatment and overall health. Should any complaints or abnormal findings arise, they are reported to a nurse.
Obtain patient's pre-weight, vital signs, and temperature.
Assess the patient's access to ensure no signs of infection are present.
Enter Ultrafiltration Goal that is suitable for the patient to remove fluid safely while meeting the 13 mL/kg/hr.
Cannulate patients and set blood flow rate to prescription.
Administer heparin bolus and infusion as prescribed.
Monitor patient’s blood pressure and report any abnormal signs/complaints that occur throughout the treatment.
