Instructor for CPR/BLS for Hudspeth Regional Center employees (includes training at Hudspeth Regional Headquarters and Satellite Group Homes)
COVID Nurse Director – ensures implementation for all guidelines recommended by MSDH and Hudspeth Regional Center. (Includes taking inventory of PPE, temperature checks, screening, vaccinations, etc.)
COVID Outbreak management - managing contact and airborne isolation/precautions, testing residents and staff according to MSDH policies
Prepare Interpersonal Care paperwork for residents of Group Home for yearly care meeting with families and healthcare team.
Review and communicate dietary orders to and from dietician.
Prepare weekly nursing report for team meeting and attend when possible
Prepare paperwork for specialty consultations, attend when possible, communicate findings and plan with physicians, team members, and family
Prepare paperwork for Group Home Medical Director's monthly rounds and other times as needed
Prepare paperwork work for Group Home psychiatrist (Dr. Hillsman) and communicate regularly regarding patients' mental and behavioral health
Organize appointment calendar and manage logistics for residents' medical and psychiatric care
Create nursing coverage and call schedule
Share nursing call with other nurses
Remain available at all times for support and direction
Communicate with families as needed
Submit Human Rights paperwork monthly and as needed
Complete nursing notes and charting
Active treatment (Interacting with patients on their level of understanding to educate and give insight for healthy living)
Perform assessments and skin surveys regularly and as needed for residents
Provide wound care as ordered by physician
Provide palliative care when necessary
Clean and check med rooms monthly
Regularly assess diabetic residents and perform nail care monthly
Prepare for Medicaid survey monthly
Prepare in-services when needed for staff
Prepare residents pass packets for families
Prepare quarterly medical summary for each resident's family
Prepare quarterly nursing report and place in each resident's chart
Schedule and draw labs monthly
Follow up lab and imaging results with ordering physician
Prepare and review monthly MAR (medication administration record) for each resident's chart.
Prepare/sign recertification for each resident every 60 days
Consult with pharmacist quarterly for each resident and as needed
Review company hiring practices, and human resources policies to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal labor regulations.
