- I'm able to read wic's (make it match) make sure materials match. Ensured accurate wire specifications for welding. Checked for presence of specified temperature limits in materials. Utilized kilojoules to accurately gauge heat input, leading to improved weld quality and integrity.
- I am able to understand and read welding symbols presented on materials to weld.
- I know the proper way to use welding gauges to check throat thickness, to verify that the weld is not concave. Ensured proper weld size by checking leg length, which will indicate if it is undersized.
- Utilized MIG for the majority of work. Proficient in adapting welding techniques to meet the demands of different positions, whether it be pull or push. Experienced in welding flat position for various aircraft materials including collars, butt welds, T-joints, lap joints, lifting pads, and columns.
- Trained to perform Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW or FCA) semi-automatic or automatic in all positions. Vertical is my favorite technique of flux, but I'm capable of horizontal and overhead as well.
- I have stick welding (SMAW) knowledge, and have only used on a smaller scale.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in operating a wide range of power tools required for welding responsibilities. Grinder, angle grinder, needle gun, sander, etc.
