Accomplishments

  • Expanded and renovated eighteen regional school buildings ranging up to $20 million working with architects and obtained all necessary permits. Overseeing contractors, materials procurement and vendor management. Developed cost reduction programs in several areas that resulted in 15 to 20 % savings in construction costs.
  • Designed and developed sewer treatment systems for regional school district expansion projects this involved five facilities. Selected locations planned and hired staff and budgeted and procured necessary equipment. By bringing this In-house the cost was reduced by 40%.
  • Developed standardized and expanded all aspects of large regional school system building and grounds department. Established central maintenance facilities. Responsible for coordinating all support services preparation, analysis, negotiation and reviews of contracts related to the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, products or services. Managed forty staff employees and fifteen part-time employees, overseeing maintenance, food services, steam and hot water boilers. Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, security and wastewater plants. High voltage emergency back-up generators, gas fired hot water heaters, HVACs, compressors and chillers. Co-ordinate emergency response procedures. Act as primary point of contract for insurance agents, fire marshals and city inspectors concerning loss control and prevention. Managed a $1M budget; computerized building management systems and all school custodians and janitorial services. By consolidating and restructuring all services, I was able to save the school district $10 Million over eight years.
  • Expanded the number of manufacturing and service facilities from two to four. Initiated planning sequence to establish two additional facilities. One manufacturing and one service center. Selected locations planned and staffed, budgeted and procured necessary equipment. Set up and initiated operations. This strengthened the overall operation of the service centers and manufacturing facilities. New locations generated a return on investment in one year.

Personnel Management and Human Resources

  • Reorganized and increased the size of the operations department, recruited management and staff. Deployment and development of top-notch talent professionals. Supervised staff at all levels in deadline-driven environments. This brought about 250% increases in business in multiple markets which positively impacted on revenue.
  • Directed the personnel and management activities. Responsible for training, scheduling, supervision and defining job responsibilities. Ensure the safety of staff through continuous training; enforce mandatory use of protective gear, working in accordance with local/national jurisdiction, OSHA and regulatory compliances while maintaining full staffing levels ensuring the ability to perform assigned duties.
