In my role as Health & Safety Manager at Flatiron Construction Corp., I am tasked with integrating safety considerations into every facet of our construction projects. My key responsibilities include:

• Contract and Submittal Review - Collaborating with the construction management team to ensure all contracts and submittals adhere to safety standards.
• Emergency and Crisis Management - Developing and implementing comprehensive plans to effectively handle emergencies and crises.
• Work and Rescue Plans - Evaluating and approving detailed work and rescue plans to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
• Job Hazard Analysis - Conducting thorough analyses to identify and mitigate potential job site hazards.
• Safety Policies and Procedures - Establish and enforce safety policies, including Injury Illness Prevention Plans and Storm Water Pollution Plans.
• Hold Point Meetings - Organizing and leading meetings to discuss critical safety checkpoints before proceeding with key project phases.

• Continuous Improvement - Participating in ongoing career enhancement seminars and training courses for self-improvement and to stay abreast of industry developments.

Supervised bridge crews in heavy highway and bridge construction and demolition projects. Ensured safe and efficient operations, coordinating various complex construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversaw formwork for structures such as stem walls, pier walls, culvert walls, parapet walls, retaining walls, shear key walls, and tieback walls.
• Manage the erection and dismantling of heavy timber and structural steel falsework, rolling and sheeting soffit, as well as the setting and securing of rebar column cages, piles, columns, piers, and abutments.
• Directed the forming and setting of footings and box culverts.
• Performed drilling, welding, oxy/acetylene torch cutting, and grinding as required.

Leadership and Management:
