  • Deck handed for boats taking tourists from all parts of the world, to Southeast Alaskan treasures, such as LeConte Glacier, The Stikine River, and Anan Bear observatory.
  • Assisted in making sure a variety of boats were running to our standard during tours. (Jet Scows, landing craft, etc.)
  • Demonstrated leadership and level headedness under pressure, by guiding groups of tourists on a hike deep through the heart of bear country leading to an observatory. (1 Mile round trip)
  • Acted as a customer service representative, booking tours and water taxi services for our customers, while simultaneously manning our company store.

  • Became Lifeguard certified, while also earning my cpr, swim instructor, and first aid certifications. (Both CPR and First Aid are expired, but I have maintained the skills of First aid)

  • Taught many children ranging from ages 4-11 how to swim, with a mix of group and private lessons, even some with learning disabilities.
  • Collaborated with other organizations, such as the US Forest service, to educate children on the environment in which they live in
  • Coached and refereed sports such as basketball, and wrestling for children ranging from kindergarten-6th Grade.

Commercial Crabbing Deck Hand

  • Acted as a deckhand for a commercial crabbing vessel in Southeast Alaska, targeting dungeness crab.
  • Prepared crab pots with bait and fishing line, set them out in the ocean at varying depths, then proceeded to pull them, and retrieved ones that were of legal size.
  • Demonstrated determination and grit, by working between 12-18 hour work days in the Alaskan elements.
  • Demonstrated the capability to learn fast, having to be able to adapt to a job that is constantly changing day by day.
