Check patients vitals: blood pressure, heart rate, pulse and temperature. Assist patients with ambulation, hygiene, oral care, dressing and toileting. Monitor food and fluid intake. Communication with the nurse if any changes noted: mental status, behavioral, or signs of distress.
Hourly rounding to ensure patient safety. Check patients blood glucose levels at ordered time. Provide patient care: oral care, hygiene, dressing and changing bedding. Monitor intake and output. Assist nurses in diverse functions: wound dressing changes, foley catheter insertion and IV insertion, phlebotomy, and adhere to all safety guidelines, hospital protocols and regulations.
Respond to call lights to determine patients needs. Reposition patients every two hours to avoid pressure ulcers. Assist patients with performing daily tasks, review patient’s dietary restrictions, food allergies and preferences to ensure patient receives the appropriate diet.
