Leslie Roskam

I begin working as an RN in 2010 at St Mary Medical Center. I worked in Telemetry from January 2010 to August 2014.

I cared for a wide range of patients including patients on dialysis, pre/post op CABG, pre/post op angiogram, pre/post op pacemaker, cardiac myocardial infarction monitoring, diabetes management and teaching, wound care, drug and alcohol withdrawl management, end of life care, transfer to higher level of care, transfer to skilled nursing and hospice facilities.

From August 2014-June 2020 I worked in the Mother/Baby postpartum unit. I frequently floated to step down NICU and occasionally assisted in Labor and Delivery and Pediatrics.

I cared for a wide range of patients including Magnesium therapy and blood pressure management, Type 1 and 2 diabetic mothers, GDM, drug abuse and withdrawal management for infant, bilirubin monitoring and treatment, lactation support, mother baby bonding, CPS and social work referrals, postpartum hemorrhage, fetal demise, infant feeding difficulties, cleft palate, post op cesarean recovery, skin to skin, as well as transferring to higher level of care or NICU.

• Checked patient vitals such as temperature, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.
• Answered call lights and supported patient comfort and safety by adjusting bed rails and equipment.
• Promoted good oral and personal hygiene by aiding patients with shaving, bathing, and teeth brushing.
• Delivered individualized patient care by recording vital signs, documenting observations, administering treatments, and evaluating patient needs.
• I worked as a CNA on a Med/Surg unit
