Client Service Representative that works as a team in support of external clients such as medical offices, clinics, nursing homes and patients, as well as internal clients including other laboratory departments, all satellite lab sites, Patient Services Centers in addition to the hospital units. General inquiries from patients, staff, and clients via telephone, mail, e-mail and fax are promptly responded to. Properly directs inbound calls while always attempting to improve call flow and answer times. Resolve of more complex problems takes in depth investigations, knowledge of lab practices, procedures and strong communication and problem solving skills. I developed many strong client relationships and earned a reputation for exceeding callers expectation due to my thorough and timely resolution to their questions, concerns or problems. We were kept abreast of rapidly evolving technology as well as new testing that became available in house and at our routinely used reference labs. Often performing research to accommodate unusual testing requests by physicians, forwarding all pertinent information to the physician. Very accomplished using our lab computer systems for patient look up, physician look up, report printing, performing billing credits, problem and other necessary documentation. Good working knowledge of LIS programs and able to quickly adapt to use of other computer systems as required.

Advanced the product line for infectious disease diagnostics and research applications. Performed the necessary microbiology work involving identifying and isolating infectious disease-causing organisms and conducting examinations of specimens. Practiced the study of how diseases spread and utilized research findings. Managed and regulated all Microbiology staff, work flow, and processes. Worked with a team and independently including biochemistry and quality system teams. Performed FDA testing for validation of existing products and development of future products. Analyzed operating procedures, materials, instruments and conditions at work site to determine risks of injury, occupational disease and damage to property and equipment.
Worked with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, systems and procedures. Determined and implemented in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications. Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety as the Supervising Safety Officer.

Performed stat and routine lab tests on a variety of specimens and communicated results quickly and accurately to physicians, nurses, as well as other hospital staff. Performed tests in chemistry, microbiology, hematology, serology, urinalysis and blood bank for ER patients along with all patients in house. Prioritized and processed blood samples for type and screens and cross matches in Blood Bank. Issued emergency blood products efficiently for trauma patients. Operated an assortment of laboratory equipment throughout the lab. Worked independently with good judgement and organization skills.

Processed and received specimens into the laboratory by following protocol for specimen acceptability and rejection. Used aseptic techniques to inoculate plates with Microbiology specimens. Performed and reported Microbiology waived testing. Operation of the BACTEC instrument for the processing and incubating blood cultures. Regulated and maintained inventory of all Microbiology media
