- Average working hours: 8:30AM - 5:00PM, Monday - Friday. However, this was a job that required my working attention between 60 - 80 hours per week. Weekends and major holidays worked, until department goals were successfully met.
- As a corporate benefits administrator; main duties included processing employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, COBRA, 401k, leave of absences, and payroll.
- Notified employees and their managers in writing of their benefit eligibility according to established guidelines; coordinated and conducted monthly New Hire Orientation, and yearly Open Enrollment meetings with eligible employees.
- Reviewed paper benefit enrollment forms; ensured completeness and accuracy; notified employees of errors and/or omissions.
- Entered benefit deductions into the ADP System; audited system output ensuring accuracy and integrity of system information.
- Entered benefit election information into benefit vendor websites; updated employee name and address changes. Audited output from websites ensuring integrity and accuracy of data.
- Responsible for timely resolution of employee questions and concerns regarding employee benefits which may involve contacting third parties such as insurance companies.
- Audited, completed, and calculated monthly benefit billings; ensuring payments were made on a timely basis and that enrollments were accurate.
- Assisted with the coordination of the annual Open Enrollment Period
- Assisted with the coordination of bi-annual Health Fairs/Flu shots.
- Advised dependents who reached age 26 and employees who became eligible for COBRA in writing within established time frames of their rights under COBRA
- Utilized a COBRA database, which computed time lines of COBRA enrollment, collected and recorded monthly payments
- Developed and processed complex reports related to benefit enrollment to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations including the Affordable Care Act
- Assisted and coordinated quarterly retirement plan enrollment meetings and appointments between Financial Advisors and employees in all three properties of Evans Hotels
- Primary contact regarding potential employee leave of absences and/or accommodation requests.
- Gathered facts through communication with employee, management, and when appropriate, medical personnel, regarding the leave accommodation request so proper approval, eligibility and designation could have been determined.
- Identified leave types; ensuring accurate coordination with state and federal leave laws, and calculated and monitored leave duration.
- Responsible for creating new or updating existing files and maintenance of confidential leave and medical forms.
- Maintained a record keeping system and coordinated as needed with Payroll for employees to be paid benefit time during leave.
- Maintained consistent contact and timely follow up with the employee and management for status updates.
- Updated leave of absence forms, templates, and policies; developed and implemented new processes and procedures accordingly.
- Maintained employee benefit files and records
