I came into the banking and credi.t union world back in 2018 with no idea if this was the career path I really wanted to go down, now almost 6 and a half years later, here I am as a personal banker, a position I never thought I'd ever be in. I am so grateful for the opportunities that I have gotten with being a banker, it was a change for sure but a really good change. I had been a cashier for quite a bit of time before I decided that I wanted to take the chance and become a teller at Community Choice Credit Credit Union. Being a cashier for Menards and Hyvee had been great through the years as a high schooler and college student, but I finally decided that I needed something that would help jump start a career, something a little more rewarding and that is when I discovered banking.
At US Bank I work both the teller line and then as a personal banker meeting customer needs such as opening checking and savings accounts, loans, certificate of deposits , credit cards and much more. As for tellering I make deposits and withdrawals, payments, getting transaction histories, ordering checks, printing cashier checks and money order, and more. Every day I balance and count the vault and make sure that the rest of the tellers put their buys and sells from the vault into our system correctly so that all of our drawers are balanced by the end of the day. With the vault I also handle most of the shipments that come in and out and get them ready to go to be picked up. While at US Bank we make outbound calls to our customers to let them know what new promotions we have going on and to make sure that we are helping them every step of the way and letting them know that we are always here to help with any banking matter.
While at Community Choice Credit Union I was a teller and I did the normal day to day transactions and helping members with any questions or concerns they may have.
I work well under pressure and in a fast pace, busy environment, and am also very efficient in getting customers in and out through the drive and lobby teller lines when needed while also making sure the customer is getting all their needs met within their visit.
Not only do I enjoy my job within US Bank but I also am happy with all the friendships I've made in the almost 3 years I've been here, the customers are even better and I enjoy getting to know all of them and to have a good memory to be able to know exactly what they need when they come in. I usually see more business customers than anything but all of them brighten my day.
I hope to stay somewhat within the banking world in the future and to learn more and move up through out the years where ever I'm at job wise. I love what I do and love helping out all my customers and having great conversations with them and seeing them almost everyday but I would also love to branch out and be able to learn new skills and to be able to say that I've done this or that and have the background knowledge in the end for any of it to be able to help others or to help my co-workers when in need. I would like the chance to be able to experience something new, I am still young and want to have the extra knowledge to provide assistance to anyone.
