Lexi Willek

I volunteered at Miniwonders, Equine Therapy, for a little over 2 years. I really love animals and enjoy working with them. I mostly groomed and walked the mini horses, and maintained the barn. This included: cleaning, grooming, refilling water and food, cleaning up waste from the pastures, and occasionally helping with animal therapy in classroom programs at local elementary schools. Doing volunteer work at the school made me realize how beneficial it is mentally and emotionally to connect with animals.

During my first semester in college I took a introduction to psychology course and really enjoyed it. I've always been interested in the human mind and taking psychology was very beneficial. I feel this knowledge is useful for working with animals.
