• Completed a hospital walk through, which allowed me to observe and understand the inner workings of different parts of the hospital.
• Observed a subclavian central line installation from a distance.
• Shadowed a Maxillofacial Surgeon and observed him completing his rounds with multiple trauma patients throughout the hospital.
• Learned how a progress note is written for a patient, and how to make sure a medication list is kosher.
• Hands-on exposure to many different types of machinery, such as a CT scanner, a cone scanner, and a three dimensional reconstructive facial CT scanner.
• Had in depth discussions with 3 CRNA anesthesiologists, multiple OR charge nurses, many X-ray CT MRI techs, a cardiothoracic surgeon, a professional with an RN MBA, a multitude of ICU nurses, and multiple ER nurses.
• Many hours of experience watching over and caring for severely impaired individuals with Alzheimer's.
• Experience caring for hospice patients in their own home through Bluebonnet Health Services.
